One Month In: A Summary of Our Recent Activities

Composers Unveiled is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing composers into the spotlight and performing their works, and is run by highschool students across the country. Since the organization’s creation, which is now exactly one month ago, we have welcomed new members, recorded multiple pieces, and planned fundraisers, possible repertoire, and performances. Though things were initially shaky, we eventually found our groove and have continued to maintain pace.
One of our first roadblocks was finding individuals whose goals aligned with that of the organizations. We had no shortage of potential members as students from various schools as well as the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College expressed some form of interest in the organization. However, of the many people who displayed interest, finding those who would be a perfect fit resulted in a long and lengthy selection process. Members were chosen based on academic achievement, musical prowess, and their character. Members who were accepted then applied for leadership positions, which require management and communication skills.
Even before our team was fully organized, our members were already preparing for upcoming events. Our website manager’s were conjuring up our website one week into the creation of the organization. In the time since, the team has and is continuing to build and improve the website for everyone who visits it. Our Content Creation Team has been hard at work, consistently uploading material to our Instagram page. Our Writing and Outreach Manager have been hard at work reaching out to composers and organizations in hopes of collaboration.
This New Year, Composers Unveiled will perform at a Fundraising concert for those in need in the Dominican Republic. Our meeting room has been filled with both anxiety and excitement over this concert. Stay tuned on our social media to see a recording or two of this concert!
